Galerie Nord, located in the Moabit neighbourhood in the Mitte district of Berlin, is an important hub for international art, science and culture. Since January 2006, it has been run by the Kunstverein Tiergarten e.V., which provides financial support for the gallery and its ambitious programme in close cooperation with the district office of Berlin Mitte.
Since its reopening in October 2004, the gallery has opened its doors as a public forum for the presentation of fine art, cultural projects and academic events.
At the centre of the gallery's activities is the presentation and mediation of contemporary art, which is characterised by its innovative, critical and socially relevant orientation. In addition, a wide range of cultural projects, scientific events and artistic mediation programmes are initiated in order to appeal to a broad audience not only within the district boundaries.
Galerie Nord also acts as a host for cultural events organised by other initiatives and projects, provided they represent a significant enrichment of the programme in terms of content or concept.
