Komische Oper Berlin @Schillertheater, Bismarckstraße, Berlin, Deutschland

From summer 2023, the Komische Oper Berlin will undergo extensive refurbishment, modernisation and expansion. Not only will the opera house be transformed into a contemporary building with state-of-the-art theatre and building technology, but a new building with a roof terrace, shop, café, new offices and rehearsal rooms will also be built. This new building will not only provide additional space for cultural education and mediation work, but will also function as a contemporary 21st century opera house that is open to the city and its society. The aim is to create a place of encounter - for everyone. Cultural life will continue unhindered during the renovation! Performances will continue not only at the Schiller Theatre, but also at unusual venues such as Tempelhof Airport, the Kindl-Areal, the Rotes Rathaus and in the various districts of the city.

The Deutsche Oper Berlin not only emphasises contemporary works, but also places a clear focus on composers whose complete works are no longer strongly represented in today's repertoire.
